The Route

Ok, here's the route as it stands

Quandaries include:

1 Given that we're not getting in to Bordeaux until 6pm, and our bikes will need assembling, do we really want to be cycling 30KM to find our accommodation (and more importantly, food!)?

2 Is it long enough?

3 How hilly is it? This may impact on 2, above.

4 How many decent wineries are on this route, and are there any we might be missing?

Update on planning progress

So, tickets have been purchased. London - Lille - Bordeaux. That's 10 hours on a train, fun.

Just need to book accommodation now (Jon's job), then work out how we're going to get to St Pancras for 8am with our bikes dismantled and in bags. Any offers to chauffeur us all?

Must check out some wineries before we go... and possibly buy another bottle holder for the bike.
